South Sudan Parliament Pays Tribute to Wardi

JUBA – South Sudan National Legislative Assembly yesterday paid tribute to late singer Mohamed Wardi who died on Saturday night in Khartoum Hospital after failing in his fight against kidney complications.
Wardi was a national singer known in the then Sudan because of his freedom and revolutionary songs during the civil war in Sudan.
President Bashir of Sudan and thousands of Sudanese citizens attended the burial of the legendary singer on Sunday in a cemetery in the Sudan capital Khartoum.
Wardi who died at the age of 83 hailed from Nubian Community of Northern Sudan.
