Some Facts about South Sudan Traditional Calendars

South Sudan communities as multi-cultural, multi-lingual multi-ethnic
groups share some linguistics’ elements throughout their eventful history.
Although they were wallowing in ignorance, some were able to create calendars to help them monitor times and noticeable parts of the years.
Factually, man has always made use of calendars for good reasons.
First, to live his life  in a every organized manner; secondly, it helps him to plan his days and coming events; thirdly, it gives his information on coming events, weeks, holidays and lastly, it is most essential part of every day living.
Structurally, the year is made up of 12 months which run from January to December, the week runs from Sunday to Saturday and normal year is 365 days while a leap year is 366 days and occurs every four years. For example Dinka Ruweng as an off-shoot of Dinka mainstream, they were able to create calendar such that they could manage time successfully in relation to geographic changes in their habitat.
According to Ustaz Bolos Bol Akuong Chan the Dinka have their own months, days of the week and seasons that correspond to European calendar as follows:
