The robbers broke in at night causing intensive damage to the whole house, among the items stolen were six computers, Compact Disks (CDs), fifty inches screen, and printers; these were all taken. He added, “this is a great loss to the nation because those stolen items contain all information necessary for public consumption,” Benjamin elaborated. In the same development, the Director of Public Information, Justin Alier was asked whether the centre was given a security guard, the director said “ no armed security guard, but we have asked those guards from KCB to oversee our place.” Alier appealed to the general public to help them get those who might be carrying or selling computers at cheaper prices. The Information Minister also briefed the media about the International Engagement Conference for South Sudan attended by President Kiir and was organized by the USA government to introduce the newly born country to the entire world. In the same conference many agreements were reached, this would be explained further tomorrow by the USA Ambassador to South Sudan, Benjamin explained. He said that all the Ministers are back from the retreat which was organized by the Kenyan government with the purpose of sharing their own past experiences with South Sudan since the Republic of South Sudan has been five months old since breaking away from the North. “Though some newspapers wrote that Ministers went for holidays’ I would like to inform you that they did not go for holidays, but they went for an important mission,” he commented. The retreat team was led by the Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny and Prime Minister Raila Odinga of Kenyan government. “We should be exposing our civil servants to other 53 African countries that had got their independence many years before. For example, I have met the Minister of Information in the Kenyan government whereby intensive interactions occurred more especially on how the unions of journalists work and the broadcasting media,” Benjamin explained.
