Eastern Equatoria Governor Supports Torit University

JUBA -The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State Louis Lobong Lojore was praised by the Principal of Torit University professor Valeriano Orasio Loyalala for supporting establishment of Torit University of Science and Technology. The principal said the Governor had allocated funds for laying foundation of the university.
Torit University was decreed by the President of the former Republic of Sudan in April 2010 in accordance with the provisions of Article 190(1) of the Interim Constitution of the Republic of Sudan 2005 hence in accordance with that provisional order, the University location is Torit.
However Prof Loyalala said that the government of South Sudan is the principal supporter of the university is providing the operational cost in order to establish university premises and also by providing the Torit Technical Institute premises to accommodate the university temporarily. He added that the university has two campuses and the community around has contributed by giving the land to the university in order to build one of the campuses.
At the moment the university has five offices which include that of the Vice-Chancellor, Principal, Academic Secretary, Secretary for Personnel and Controller of Accounts and that the university has three colleges and that is  the of agricultural and animals science, educational science and  earth sciences.
Torit University he said would strive to innovate required technology connected to the needs of development and provide necessary support to strategic national projects in the field of scientific and technical consultancies.
