The National Democratic Front Party under the leadership of Dr. James Mabor Gatkuoth has issued a statement in which the Party saluted the struggle and tenacity of the masses of the people of South Sudan on the commemoration occasion of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) 2005 and the Independence Referendum 2011 that is being celebrated these days. The Party has decided to name the day the DAY OF THE GREATEST VICTORY because on January 9, 2005, when the CPA was ratified the victory of the people of South Sudan was immensely great on warmongers and enemies of peace. They stopped, security detention camps for torture, human dignity abuse, killing of the innocent and murder of children and women were closed down. On such day January 9, 2011 our people’s victory was much great on the government of injustice, repression, marginalization and false country national unity, when they voted by 98,68% at a referendum commended by the whole world and they got independence, sovereignty and freedom to their country. On the same day January 9, 2012 our people’s victory is still extremely great on the sinister and ill-wishers as our people have proved that South Sudan can never be a failed state and that its people are competent to rule themselves by themselves and solve their problems by themselves. The clear evidence for that recently is their containment of the bloody conflict between the two tribes of the Lou Nuer and Murle in Jonglei State within a short time. Moreover there is the crackdown on the criminal activities of the Lord Resistance Army (LRA) in Western Equatoria State in order to wreak it totally sooner or later. There are also the repulses of the military operations and threats of the Sudan Army instantly and drastically on the border. Above all this and that is the winning of the African Peace Award of the year 2011 by President of the Republic Lt. General Salva Kiir Mayardit just few months after independence of his country in the same year.
Congratulations to the President of the Republic, his deputy and government and the people of South Sudan – one by one. May we celebrate this occasion next year while the country is enjoying development, progress and prosperity.
