TORIT – The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State announced that his new Cabinet will soon be chosen on qualifications, experience and performance on merits.
Louis Lobong Lojore said last Tuesday during the swearing-in of the State Members of the Assembly, the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker that his next cabinet would include individuals who are capable to work and deliver better services to the state communities.
Governor Lobong dissolved the state cabinet on Monday to pave way for appointment of the new state executive, the first after South Sudan Independence of July 2011.
He reiterated that the new government he would announce soon would be along consultations from the state county communities and strictly on qualifications and merits based appointments.
He added that that all counties in the State would be represented in the new state government to help steer the development and growth of the new nation and especially the state at large.
Governor further urged the members of parliament in the state assembly and the citizens to identify some of the capable members able to join his government in order to meet the high expectation of the state citizens.
He urged MPs to use their recess period to enlighten citizens on the new developments in the nation and called on all citizens of EES to develop a desire of work for the development of South Sudan.
It is worth mentioning that the state governor of Eastern Equatoria was sworn in to office last week for the second time in Torit in the presence of high level delegation from the central government in Juba and hundreds of high level dignitaries. In the same occasion, the state transitional constitution was endorsed by the governor after it was passed by the state Assembly and the ceremony was witnessed by thousands of citizens.
Eastern Equatoria state is the first state in the country to have its governor sworn, its transitional constitution ascended and its entire cabinet dissolved after independence of South Sudan.
